For making you understand with greater potential, in this blog each process will be explained with wider information. So, let’s see the steps for application process clearly:

Step-1: Proof of acceptance

It is given by the university which you have applied for. One must check if the provided letter is either conditional or unconditional. For example, in the conditional letter, there is prescribed IELTS exam score, whereas in Unconditional letter there is no such prescribed IELTS band. This proof of unconditional or conditional letter from university is not an acceptance letter, for that we need a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) which is available after paying the minimum amount required to the university/institute.

Presenting your Financial Statement is heart of the total Application process, so taking extra care is well rewarded later on. So, firstly, you must demonstrate the purchase of a special Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) from a participating Canadian financial institution, in the amount specified in Canadian dollars to cover living expenses for your first year in Canada. This is useful in your tough days if you fail to cover or get a part time job as soon as you go to the country, so the government provides the living expenses through this account. This GIC account is provided by Nova Scotia Bank, CIBC bank and ICICI bank. One will deposit an amount of 10000 CAD (6 lakh) in a GIC account and get a certificate. This is the specified amount one must deposit as per the prescribed guideline of the country. This amount is periodically used for living expenses, when you’re in Canada.

Apart from GIC, the other documents under financial statements include your education loan and security copies and loan sanction letters if one has opted for them. These are also required and to be presented while applying for student visa.

Step-5: Affidavit of sponsorship

It is a document provided that the sponsors signed by your prescribed bank and parents/caretakers must be presented. It is basically a paper where you will explain the Canadian government on whose sponsor or support all your expenses are being provided or shared with.

Step-6: ITR/form 16 for last 2 years

Income Tax Returns (ITR) proof must be provided during the application process to make the process a legally approved form. All the lists from 2 years back must be presented.

Step-7: FD/Saving account statement.

FD/Saving account statement for last 6 months and covering letter (certified by the bank) for balance duration must be presented as well.

Step-8: Proof of explanation (SOP)

This is the section where you explain your purpose of choosing Canada as your study destination, what is your prescribed source, what are your aspirations after the completion of course and other such questions must be written properly and presented to the university and during student visa process.
